For years, Millennium has been providing informational tours to residents of Cowlitz County and visitors from across the Northwest who are excited by the potential of the site along the banks of the Columbia River.

A tour earlier this month included Slade Gorton, former U.S. Senator. Invited by Millennium CEO, Bill Chapman, Gorton visited the site and spoke with local labor leaders and the Millennium team. Past visitors have included Wyoming Governor Matt Mead, numerous elected officials from the surrounding communities, and members of the Washington State Legislature.

The Daily News featured a story on Gorton’s visit, adding that the Senator praised Millennium for cleanup efforts on the site. Since 2011, Millennium has removed or recycled more than 200,000 tons of material. Gorton acknowledged this work and congratulated the team for their efforts, saying, “They’re doing a great job since they took over.”
