Three years have passed since permit applications were filed for our export terminal expansion. With their submission, we formally kicked off the first phase of our economic redevelopment project. Since then, the Millennium team has passed many milestones.

We’ve made significant progress on site cleanup, including the recycling of more than 3,000 tons of aluminum and steel. We imported our one millionth tonne of alumina in 2014, and have maintained a strong track record for safety and environmental compliance. We hosted our third annual community open house and barbecue where we welcomed back former Reynolds employees to the site.

“With each passing day, the team here gets more excited,” said Bill Chapman, CEO, Millennium Bulk Terminals – Longview. “We want to see this site live up to its fullest potential. We’re working every day toward creating the jobs that Longview wants and needs.”

This year, the co-lead agencies have committed to releasing a draft environmental impact statement in November of 2015. This next step is necessary to ensuring a timely and thorough review.
